Smoke House Deli, an extremely popular eatery that boasts of a splendid menu filled with the best of European cuisine. You enter the restaurant, and you are left marvelled with the chic white interiors done tastefully with a choice of both outdoor and indoor seating. They have two branches, but I like the Lavelle Road one better.
However, I have visited this eatery a couple of times and have tasted quite a few items here and can share a lovely, detailed review with all of you. Intricate interiors, white designer chair, comfortable seating is how we can define this place. Excellent location in the heart of the city is definitely a plus point to visit!
So here are a couple of dishes that I have tried; starting with the soup, I had the Cream of Mushroom soup; it was a little thick for me, but tasted absolutely delicious. Then moving on to the salad and appetisers; I tried the Greek Salad and the SHD Cheese plate. The Greek Salad was served in this enormous brown bowl that gave the entire dish an extremely authentic feel. There was a balanced mix of veggies, figs and vinaigrette which made it extremely flavourful and also filling. (That is definitely a health in a bowl.) Coming to the cheese plate, there was an array of food items, and I can’t define how succulent it was. A combination of cheese bruschetta, corn cheese balls, a couple of cheesy triangles (more like westernized samosas) and a coleslaw salad sprinkled on the side. The food was extremely delicious, but the plating could be much better.
Coming to the sandwich; I was extremely confused what to order, and decided to give their newly added Vegan sandwich a try. It was a Spinach & Tofu Sandwich with a Mango Jam recommended by the staff; words can’t define how mouth-watering it was; plus when you think of Vegan you think of no cheese, buttery or any dairy; but they make it so delicious that you are left wanting more of it. Also tried the Mixed Pink Sauce Penne Pasta, that was excellent and had the right amount of flavours that made me absolutely love it.
Coming to the dessert, tried the Flourless Chocolate Cake, which was SO good, a definite 5/5. The Hazelnut Mousse Flan which was a little too bitter for me so around 3/5 and the Panacotta with Blueberry Syrup; a good dessert so 4/5.
I definitely want to go back and give their breakfast a try once; have heard so much about it!
